It first appeared in the early 1980's and has grown substantially over the years.  It has been a part of hrpr.com since 1997.

HR and SETI@Home

The Linux server (Doofus) here on hrpr.com's local network has been contributing spare CPU cycles to the SETI@Home Project since March 2003.  Since then Doofus has been faithfully processing signal analysis tasks 24 x 7.  Who knows, maybe one of these days SETI@Home will assign a task to Doofus that decodes to "ET Phone Home."

Doofus was joined by another local server (Gunston) in mid-2009.  Both are now busy 24 x 7 looking for ET.
